Frequently Asked Questions
A doula provides emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, labour, birth, and the early postpartum period. My role is to help you feel informed, supported, and confident throughout your journey.
No. A doula does not provide medical care or replace your healthcare team. I work alongside your provider by offering continuous support, comfort measures, education, and advocacy encouragement.
Many families choose to book early in pregnancy to ensure availability and receive support throughout their journey. However, it’s never too late to reach out.
Yes. I support families planning hospital births, birth centre births, and home births where permitted and appropriate with their care provider.
Absolutely. My support is judgment-free and centred on your choices. Whether you plan an unmedicated birth, epidural, induction, or cesarean birth, I am there to support you.
Yes — absolutely. My goal is never to replace your partner, but to support both of you. I help partners feel confident, involved, and supported so they can be fully present with you.
Your package includes four virtual sessions designed to help you and your partner feel prepared for birth and early parenthood. Topics may include labour stages, comfort techniques, partner support, feeding basics, recovery, and newborn preparation.
Beginning at 38 weeks of pregnancy (or sometimes earlier), I remain available 24/7 for your labour call. Once labour begins, I am ready to join you when needed and provide continuous support through birth.
Some extended health insurance plans may cover doula services. Coverage depends on your individual provider and plan. Clients are encouraged to verify eligibility directly with their insurer. Receipts can be provided upon request.
Payment plans may be available depending on the package selected. Please reach out to discuss options.
