Hi, I’m Liz
About Me — Liz the Doula
I’m a certified doula, proud mom, and passionate supporter of families as they move through pregnancy, birth, and the transition into parenthood. My journey into this work began with my own experience becoming a mother. Pregnancy, labour, and birth changed me in the most powerful way. I had a beautiful birth experience, and it opened my heart to the kind of support every parent deserves during such an important time. That experience inspired me to become a doula so I could help others feel held, informed, and empowered in their own journeys.
My Approach
Others often describe me as compassionate, maternal, and calm — and that is exactly the energy I bring into my work. Birth can feel exciting, emotional, unpredictable, and intense. My role is to be a steady presence through it all. I offer reassurance, guidance, and grounding support so that in the middle of the chaos, you have someone to lean on. And when the moment allows for it? I’m always happy to bring a little humor and lighten the room with a well-timed joke. I want every family I support to feel safe, heard, respected, and never alone.
What I Believe
I believe every mother deserves:
- To make her own informed choices.
- To feel emotionally and physically safe.
- To be supported without judgment.
- To have calm, compassionate care.
- To feel strong, capable, and confident.
Your birth is your experience. My role is not to take over — it is to stand beside you, support your voice, and help you feel confident in your decisions every step of the way.
My Background
Alongside my doula certification, my background includes studies in: Healthcare / Ultrasound Technology & Early Childhood Development
I have also completed internships supporting young children with disabilities, helping them learn, grow, and build important developmental skills.
These experiences deepened my understanding of care, communication, patience, and the unique needs of every child and family.
And of course, some of my greatest learning has come through motherhood itself — as well as being surrounded by many nieces and nephews in a big, loving family.
A Little More About Me
Outside of doula work, I’m deeply family-oriented and proud of my Italian roots. Family, connection, and culture mean everything to me.
I love reading, cooking, animals, a good iced coffee, and the occasional shopping day for a little self-care.
Most of all, I love being a mom. The connection my son and I share — the kind you can feel with just one look — is something I treasure every day. I also genuinely loved the journey of becoming a mother, and I can’t wait to grow my family again one day.
